An ideas guy who accidentally pumped SWM

An ideas guy who accidentally pumped SWM

Welcome to Crypto in Conversation, where we’re de-bunking the how, why and what of crypto investments. We’ve asked crypto fanatics about their cryptocurrency, trading advice, trading pitfalls and their favourite tech gadgets.

I guess you could say an entrepreneur. I’m an ideas guy with an IT background. I basically work where I can find my own ventures.

The details

Provide a breakdown of your cryptocurrency portfolio

Well I tend to sniff out the more obscure projects and my holdings chop and change but as of writing 60% UUU, 20% Bitball, 10% TRX, 5% ETH, 5% EMPR (yes I thought I’d give them a shot, I bought about 8 billion for $100, good platform and surprised it’s not doing better considering they pay you).

Do you invest in anything other than cryptocurrency?

What other things do you invest in apart from cryptocurrency?

I have some cannabis stocks listed on the ADX as well as a portfolio with Spaceship. I recently discovered Stake thanks to CoinJar and can’t wait to build a portfolio with them.

What percent of your total investment portfolio is in cryptocurrency?

How often do you check the price?

At least 10 times a day. Between Delta and CoinMarketApp, I always have a good idea of where the market is heading.

What have been your best and worst cryptocurrency investments?

Best: SWM. I bought some on Yobit for a steal but they wouldn’t let me withdraw unless I had 25,000 SWM. Which was 10,000 more than I had. I inadvertently started a pump whilst trying to buy the remaining 10,000 and the price tripled in 15 minutes. So I sold all I had for TRX and walked away.

Worst: Azart. I lost 94% in a week. Ouch, but that is the nature of crypto investing especially when looking for the next 100x.

Have you ever paid for anything with crypto?

Yes, Living Room of Satoshi (LRoS) has facilitated many BPAY transactions. LRoS has an awesome rewards program that it’s worth converting $$ to crypto just to pay the bills.

What are your most reliable sources for trading advice?

My own brain, as well as Telegram, Twitter, apps like CoinMarket, and I have also joined email groups to help me make informed choices.

What is your favourite thing to spend money on?

Is that a trick question? It would have to be crypto.

iPhone or Android?

Nowadays Android, iPhones are overpriced and restrictive. My current phone is a Samsung s7 and its been just as reliable as any iPhone. Android phones don’t dictate how to use my hardware or data.

Favourite tech gadget?

It would have to be my phone.

What finance apps do you currently use?

I use too many to list but my current favourites are Delta, Coinmarketapp, CoinJar Touch, Stake, Spaceship, Trust Wallet, Kucoin, Binance and, Satowallet.

Do you have any advice for people who want to start in cryptocurrency?

Yes, just do it!

  • Do your own research, look for projects that have a solid team and good fundamentals.
  • Use resources like Cryptopanic to assess every investment. Join crypto related social media groups.
  • If you don’t have much to invest look at coins below $0.01 and have a ranking between 600 and 1400.
  • Be prepared to wait.
  • Only invest what you’re prepared to lose.
  • Accept that losing money every now and then is part of the journey.
  • Try to buy the dip and most importantly don’t panic.
