A florist hoping their investments bloom as well as their roses

Welcome to Crypto in Conversation, where we’re de-bunking the how, why and what of crypto investments. We’ve asked crypto fanatics about their cryptocurrency, trading advice, trading pitfalls and their favourite tech gadgets.

The details

Provide a breakdown of your cryptocurrency portfolio

25% BTC, 25% ETH, 20% XRP, 20% LTC and 10% ETH tokens

Do you invest in anything other than cryptocurrency?

No. Investing is new to me and I wanted to try with a small amount of Crypto to see how well I could do.

How often do you check the price?

Fortnightly. I think this way I am able to keep a track of the price without letting myself get too caught up in panic buying or selling.

What have been your best and worst cryptocurrency investments?

Some of the tokens I had purchased didn’t prove to be so profitable. I am still waiting to see what my best Crypto investment will be.

Have you ever paid for anything with crypto?

Groceries and some plants. I use my CoinJar Swipe to make the purchases.

What are your most reliable sources for trading advice?

Makeup, my cat and wine. Local Australian wines are some of my favourites.

What is your favourite thing to spend money on?

I love plants and flowers. My house looks like a jungle because I spend so much of my money on plants. I especially love local flora from Australia.

iPhone or Android?

iPhone. I have a great app that allows met to scan a plant and then it tells me the species and provides me with care instructions.

Favourite tech gadget?

I noticed when I started to accumulate so many plants that I wanted to make sure I was caring for them all equally. I have little moisture gadgets which I put in the soil of my plants and the moister levels and nutrient levels are sent straight to my phone so I have a general overview of what is going on.

What finance apps do you currently use?

CoinJar of course and my banking app along with some other Crypto apps.

Do you have any advice for people who want to start in cryptocurrency?

Research, research and more research. For me this was so important because I am so new to the whole investing scene. I would also say have fun!
